Course Description
The QNUK Level 3 Award in Administration of Emergency Oxygen (RQF) is the ideal qualification for those that are responsible for the administering of oxygen .This is typically those working in a Prehospital, healthcare or leisure setting.
Course Duration
This course is delivered over 3 and a half hours.
Pre-Requisites
Upon commencing this qualification learners should be a minimum of 18 years in order to undertake this qualification. Learners should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent. Learners should also hold a valid first aid certificate as a minimum.
Course Content
This course covers a range of content including:
- Principles of administering oxygen in an emergency situation
- Administration of Oxygen
Course Assessment
For this course learners are required to undertake practical observation and a multiple-choice question paper. For the MCQ paper, each learner will be required to score a minimum of 70% correct answers to achieve a pass.
Learners are required to demonstrate the safe use of emergency medical gases as they would in an emergency situation, therefore, they will need to be able to work on the floor, for example, as with CPR.
Learners must have sufficient command of the English language to understand and undertake the recommended assessment methods for this qualification and it is strongly recommended that learners should be working at level 2 English literacy.
Certificate and Validity
Upon completion of the course including the submission and approval by QNUK of the relevant course paperwork, candidates will receive a certificate which is valid for a period of one year.
