Course Description
This qualification is for those that hold a current First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, who are in need of an annual refresher as recommended in the Health and Safety (First aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.
Please note, this qualification is intended to ensure candidates maintain their skills during their qualification period. This is not a re-qualification, qualification.
Course Duration
This course is delivered over half a day as a face to face course.
Pre-Requisites
This qualification is available to those over 16 years.
Due to the language of the assessment, it is recommended that learners have sufficient command of the English language in order to understand the assessment and to undertake the recommended assessment methods.
Attendees will be required to demonstrate First Aid procedures as they would in a real work environment. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor, therefore be physically capable of doing so.
Course Content
This course covers a range of content including:
- Assessment of an emergency situation
- Unresponsive Casualties
- External Bleeding
- Shock
Course Assessment
For this course learners are required to undertake observed practical tasks which must be passed in order to complete the course. Learners must have sufficient command of the English language to understand and undertake the recommended assessment methods for this qualification and it is strongly recommended that learners should be working at level 2 English literacy.
Certificate and Validity
Upon completion of the course including the submission and approval by QNUK of the relevant course paperwork, candidates will receive a certificate which is valid for a period of one year.
